OUR UNIQUE LEARNING APPROACH

We offer a completely unique learning approach for pre-schoolers here in Oamaru, with an aim to care and nurture our under 2s, and to prepare our older tamariki for an easy transition to school.

All of our spaces are beautiful, calm and peaceful. With a stunning self-sufficient nursery for our under 2-year olds.
We have set ourselves up to offer all possibilities to meet your family’s individual situation, which is shown through our flexible operating sessions. We have a range of session times available, allowing you the ability to find the routine that best suits your child and your family situation.

We are so excited to bring the Montessori philosophy to Oamaru; it’s an amazingly beneficial way of learning and preparing for the world. You have to see this learning in action!

Educational focus & daily routines

Our daily routines are based on a strong philosophical background, fostering children’s readiness for future learning through Montessori education, combined with NZ’s Early Childhood Curriculum, Te Whariki.
This combination of both practices makes for the perfect early childhood education, promoting a child’s willingness to learn through a carefully prepared environment that enables the best learning for your child. A wide range of activities and resources are displayed and the environment allows the children to foster concentration on all subjects of the programme, with the fundamental outcome of independence, self-care, self-esteem, self-worth and self-development.
The daily routines we have included in our Montessori learning programme here at Montessori Oamaru are designed to encompass the whole child’s personality and aims to foster their natural love of learning.

MEALS, FOOD & NAPPIES INCLUDED

As with all things here at Montessori Oamaru, we have thought of everything! and this includes delicious and nutritious food for your children. We will be providing a rolling morning & afternoon tea, and we will also be supplying lunches too!
As with the Montessori philosophy, the preparing of food will involve our tamariki & will bring through Montessori ‘practical life’ components.
We can’t wait to start playing around with yummy menus!
We also supply nappies for your little ones, this is just another way we have thought about how we can make being with Montessori Oamaru easy for you.

We have a minimum enrolment requirement of 2 sessions a week. This makes the settling process much smoother for your child, yourselves, the other children & our teaching team. To see our competitive fee schedule, please request an information booklet.

GIANT LEAPS is an independent speech company that provides specialist speech therapy, speech & drama classes, & public speaking coaching to people of all ages & abilities throughout North Otago.

We are lucky enough to be able to collaborate with the awesome & talented staff at Giant Leaps, & offer this amazing service to our children here at Montessori Oamaru! Who doesn’t want their children to succeed in a world that demands confidence, creativity, and the ability to communicate ideas clearly? These skills are needed today more than ever before. We are super excited that the experienced team at Giant Leaps are bringing just that to our programme for our 3 & overs.
